Completed in 2021, Lakeshore Woods Lodge was built as an escape for suburban families of surrounding cities in search of a secluded place to relax and unwind in nature without losing access to all their familiar home amenities or to the activities, restaurants, and shopping of a vibrant downtown. In other words, Erica Sinchak and her husband created a perfectly-balanced vacation home that feels anything but ordinary.

As you enter the property via a private road off Lakeshore Drive and drive beneath a canopy of Michigan woods, you’ll hear the sounds of the lake lapping the shore and come to find the all-natural, rustic construction of the Lodge nestled among the trees of its four-acre lot. Inside, the lodge’s sprawling, open-concept floor plan was purpose-built to include multiple living spaces so guests can spread out and relax, or come together for a meal in the fully-equipped gourmet kitchen, all while the bedrooms stay quietly tucked away.

This rustic beauty is available year-round for memory-making with your loved ones. From beach and dune rides in the summer, to skiing and sitting by the fire in the winter, there is always a good reason to visit the Lakeshore Woods Lodge.

Just a 2.5 hour drive from Chicago, this private retreat has quick access to all the fun of Saugatuck and Douglas’ vibrant lake community, including it’s world-class art galleries, boutique shopping, sightseeing tours, delicious farm-to-table food, and amazing local wines. The Lakeshore Woods Lodge was purpose-built to provide an open-concept floor plan that incorporates multiple living spaces, allowing large groups to spread out, remain comfortable, and enjoy all the lodge has to offer.

Erica kept the growing family in mind when designing the Lakeshore Woods Lodge. There’s a large entranceway with plenty of coat storage, a dining table to fit the whole family, tvs in every bedroom, and plenty of showers. For the elderly, there’s a spacious, first floor bedroom with en suite. And for the little ones, there are built-in babygates on the stairs, a high chair, crib, and sound machine.

Saugatuck is home to some fabulous local grocers, organic growers, and plenty of wineries, breweries, and distilleries. That’s why Erica Sinchak knew the Lakeshore Woods Lodge needed a fully-equipped and functional kitchen. Equipped with range, microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster, pots & pans and all sorts of other cooking must-haves, there’s no kitchen utensil a chef could miss.

And with good food comes the need for comfortable dining. There is plenty of seating for meals throughout the Lakeshore Woods Lodge, including three kitchen-island bar stools, an indoor dining table that seats eight, and a screened-in porch dining table with an additional eight seats. Outside, guests can enjoy the patio grilling area with its own dining area and lounge.

Slide open the doors of the main common area of Lakeshore Woods Lodge, and you’ll instantly step into nature––protected by the screened-in loveliness of the large porch. With a instant-on fireplace, large dining area, and cozy chairs for reading, you could be happy enjoying the outside, inside.
